Soccer Champions Tour Brings FC Barcelona, Real Madrid to MetLife Stadium

The 2024 Soccer Champions Tour is coming to MetLife Stadium, pitting classic rival Spanish soccer franchises FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF against each other on Saturday, Aug. 3 in an epic prelude to FIFA’s World Cup 26. Also featured on the roster are iconic clubs AC Milan, Manchester City, and Chelsea FC, all playing in six matches from July 27 through Aug. 6.

Yankee Stadium will host Manchester City versus AC Milan on July 27. Other matches are in Orlando, Florida; Chicago, Illinois; Baltimore, Maryland; and Charlotte, North Carolina.

“Soccer Champions Tour is thrilled to return this summer with enticing matchups featuring some of the world’s most storied clubs for fans in the U.S. to witness the beautiful game at the highest level,” said Joe Carr, Commissioner, Soccer Champions Tour. “With all five clubs possessing passionate supporters that span the globe, we’re pleased to unveil an exciting range of matches throughout the U.S., a market experiencing exponential growth in the sport’s popularity.”

Real Madrid will be coming to MetLife for the third time, having placed 2nd in La Liga to FC Barcelona last season, and is currently poised to lock in a 1st-place finish in a match against Athletic before moving on to the Champions League. Led by midfielder Jude Bellingham, the club is moving to sign superstar forward Kylian Mbappé in a free transfer this summer.

This August will mark FC Barcelona’s second appearance in MetLife. The team has struggled since it lost record-breaking forward Lionel Messi in 2021, momentarily losing its spot in the Champions League, a first for the team since the 2003-2004 season. At MetLife, under the leadership of manager Xavi Hernández, the team seeks to prove that it still warrants its storied place as one of Spain’s and Europe’s premier football clubs.

Exclusive pre-sale tickets will be available starting March 25, with general ticket access beginning on Wednesday, March 27 at 10 a.m. Signup in advance to purchase presale tickets. General ticket sales will be available online at MetLife Stadium
