On Thursday, Feb. 27, the Bergen County Historical Society (BCHS) will be hosting an event as part of its “BCHS Lecture Series”. The lecture is titled ‘Damn’d Good Shots: A Matter of Honor on the Streets of New York, 1783 by Todd Braisted.
The presentation is centered around a rather unknown duel between two Loyalist officers that took place on the streets of New York City. The duel took place just months before the British Evacuation.
The event offers attendees the opportunity to learn more about the early parts of our country’s history. The lecture will focus on the topic mentioned, providing a detailed account of the duel that occurred.
The presentation will take place at the 1752 Steuben House, 1209 Main Street, River Edge, NJ. There will be refreshments at the conclusion of the event.
