BergenPAC is getting ready for an eventful weekend, with two big shows scheduled over the next few days. The two shows include The Sugarhill Gang, a legendary rap trio that defined an entire genre, as well as Terry Fator, a stand-up comedian and ventriloquist, who won the second season of America’s Got Talent.

On Friday, April 17, BergenPAC will be hosting The Sugarhill Gang at 8 p.m. for their second annual Rappers Convention. The show will be taking place in Englewood, New Jersey, which serves as a homecoming for the trio, as all three members were born there, in addition to that being where the group was formed.
The Sugarhill Gang was founded in 1979 in Englewood, New Jersey. That same year, the trio would release their single “Rapper’s Delight”, which would become the first rap single to reach the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. The song reached a peak at number 36.
The hit song is often regarded as one of the most influential rap songs of all time, paving the way for what is now one of the most popular genres in the world. The band’s impact cannot be understated, as they played a major role in shaping modern rap music.
As the trio heads to BergenPAC, fans can relive the genre-defining music, as the band plays some of their greatest hits. It offers guests the opportunity to experience the influence that the group has had and the projects that they made since their foundation.
On Sunday, April 19 at 7 p.m., iconic Las Vegas headliner Terry Fator will be heading to BergenPAC as part of his 2025-26 tour. The show is a 90-minute display of entertainment and comedy, featuring incredible impressions and ventriloquism. Fator’s excellence in both of these categories has allowed him to become a must-see show across the nation.
Fator first gained national attention in 2007, when he competed on the second season of America’s Got Talent. Fator’s personability and comedic skills led to him being crowned the winner of that season, with judge Simon Cowell claiming that he was one of the top entertainers on the planet.
BergenPAC is bringing all sorts of entertainment to the Garden State this weekend, offering events for everyone to enjoy. As spring continues throughout the region, there will only be more shows on the horizon.
