Students enrolled in the Berkeley College Fashion Merchandising and Management program will put their talents on full display on Saturday, May, 11 when the the Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey hosts the 2nd annual Westfield Good Festival From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Students will show off their distinctive brands as part of the “Reimagined Remnants: A Sustainable Fashion Showcase,” which features styles stitched together from deadstock fabric, fabric mill headers, and design room waste.
Additionally, Chuks Collins, the designer-in-residence at Berkeley College in New York City, will contribute two garments to the showcase, featuring cut-free technology and material made from recycled plastic bottles.
Nearly 30 students and professors from Berkeley also collaborated to create “Threaded Tales: Student Stories from the Fashion Room Floor,” a patchwork of design room scraps that will hang from the ceiling crossbars at the mall.

The Denim Revival Experience
Garden State Plaza has partnered with BlueJeansGoGreen to offer visitors to the Good Festival the opportunity to donate a pair of old jeans to be recycled into everything from pet bed inserts to thermal insulation for food packaging. Visitors can also bring a second pair of jeans to be revived with a custom, unique art design by Nick Sizemore and Darcey Barber of @SAJ_NYC. Jeans revived in this manner will be available for pickup starting the following Saturday, May 18th, at the Garden State Plaza.
Sustainability Spotlight Pop-Ups
Stores throughout Garden State Plaza will be showcasing their own eco-friendly practices, products, and more. Some standouts include Sephora, Fabletics, Arc’teryx, Tony Burch, Nespresso, LUSH, and many more.
Herb Garden Starter
Guests who spend $50 or more across the Sustainability Spotlight shops will be able to pick up their complimentary herb to take home and enjoy, while supplies last. Save your receipts!
Community Art Project
The LEGO Store at Garden State Plaza will be putting together a mosaic of LEGO bricks throughout the day, to which visitors can contribute. The LEGO store will also be holding a drive of pre-loved LEGO bricks under its LEGO Replay program, to be donated to children in need.
Live Entertainment
If nothing else, come to groove to the live performances held throughout the day, by artists such as American Idol finalist Sam Woolf, American kindle rock band Rolie Polie Guacamole, and musical duo Emtee.
