The FIFA World Cup 2026 New York New Jersey™ Host Committee launched the NYNJ Sonic ID, a region-wide sound takeover that brings the excitement of FIFA World Cup 2026™ to life. As the city and region that never sleeps, sound is ingrained in daily life — whether it’s the rush of a subway, the cheers of a packed stadium, ocean waves hitting the shoreline from the boardwalk, or the music that defines our streets. The NYNJ Sonic ID taps into this energy, echoing through airports, transit hubs, sporting events, shopping destinations, radio and digital platforms.

“FIFA World Cup 2026 is more than a tournament; it’s a cultural moment that starts long before the first match,” said Alex Lasry, Chief Executive Officer of FIFA World Cup 2026™ NYNJ. “As the world turns its eyes to New York and New Jersey as hosts of 8 games including the Final, we’re making sure they don’t just see it and feel it—they hear it and experience it everywhere.”

This is just the beginning of how we’re bringing the excitement of the tournament to life—uniting fans from now until kickoff and beyond.”

The NYNJ Sonic ID debuted at American Dream on Tuesday, March 4, at an event featuring FIFA World Cup 2026™ merchandise.

Take a Daytrip

“We loved crafting the NYNJ Sonic ID for the World Cup,” said Denzel Baptiste of Take A Daytrip. “We got our start as producers in New York, and I grew up in New Jersey,” he continues. “Both places have played a huge role in shaping who we are as artists, and we wanted to capture that energy in a way that speaks to the passion and spirit of the World Cup,” adds David Biral, the other half of the duo. “It’s an honor to help bring this global moment to life through sound and to be part of an experience that fans will carry with them long after the tournament ends.”

FIFA World Cup 2026™ Sonic IDs

For the first time in World Cup history, FIFA is celebrating the diversity and culture of its Host Cities through Sonic IDs. Selected music producers from each city have the chance to remix the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Theme, filling it with the distinctive rhythm and cultural vibe of their own city.

Beginning on Saturday, March 1, the Sonic ID for one of the 16 Host Cities will be released each day until Sunday, March 16. This exciting new initiative emphasizes the unifying nature of sports and grants fans a window into the cultural heartbeats of each Host City leading up to the World Cup.
