Football in the Meadowlands Week 11 Preview: Jets Search for Third-Consecutive Win on Thursday Night Football, Giants Host Packers This Sunday

The Meadowlands is in store for another exciting week of football, with both teams set to take the field. The red-hot Jets are going against a divisional rival in a primetime matchup this Thursday, while the Giants are facing the Green Bay Packers at MetLife Stadium this Sunday.

New York Jets vs. New England Patriots

On Thursday, the New York Jets will be looking to keep their hot streak going against the New England Patriots. The Jets have currently won their past two games, but will be facing a Patriots team that is currently riding a 7-game win streak. However, the Jets have shown significant growth as a team over the past few weeks, despite injuries and trades, which is a hopeful sign for the future.

The Jets will need strong performances in all aspects of the game to take down one of the NFL’s hottest teams. Their defense has had solid outings recently, though MVP candidate Drake Maye brings a whole new challenge to the team. The offense will also look to revert back to its performance against the Bengals, as Justin Fields looks to push the team down the field more and Breece Hall continues to be a force in the ground game.

The Jets will notably be without star wide receiver Garrett Wilson, which poses a disadvantage for the team, though, it opens new opportunities for different offensive players to shine. This Thursday, the Jets will look to get key performances from Fields, Hall and any other players that are able to step up to the occasion under the bright lights of Thursday Night Football, as they search for their third consecutive win.

Green Bay Packers vs. New York Giants

The New York Giants will be hosting the Green Bay Packers this Sunday, Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. at MetLife Stadium. The game will be the team’s first under new leadership, as Mike Kafka takes over the role of head coach. The Game will be full of indefinites for the team, as Jaxson Dart’s injury status remains up in the air, which raises the question of which quarterback will take his spot for this week’s matchup.

Last week, the Giants played dominant football against the Bears for the majority of the game, especially in the passing game. With receivers such as Theo Johnson, Darius Slayton and Wan’Dale Robinson all putting up solid performances. Even in Dart’s absence, the Giants have two experienced quarterbacks on their roster, ready to take over, who they hope will lead them to a victory.

For this week’s slate of matches, both teams are entering as the underdogs but have the ability to pull off a shocking upset. For the Jets, they will look to continue to put up wins, while the Giants tackle adversity and try to find wins in their uncertainty at the quarterback position.
