Football in the Meadowlands Week 6 Preview: Jets Travel to London to Face Broncos, Giants Host Eagles for Thursday Night Football

After another week of football in the Meadowlands, the region has two action-packed matchups lined up for this week. The Jets are playing their first and only international game of the year, as they take on the Denver Broncos in London. The Giants, on the other hand, are playing in their second primetime game of the season against a divisional rival in the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night.

New York Jets vs. Denver Broncos

The New York Jets are in search of their first win and will hope to get it in international territory. The Jets are taking on the Broncos at Northumberland Development Project in London, England. The team will look to Justin Fields and more importantly, the defense to lead the team to victory.

The Jets defense is in search of its first takeaway of the season and will rely on the help of head coach Aaron Glenn, who was previously the Detroit Lions’ defensive coordinator. In the Jets’ last game against the Denver Broncos, they lost 10-9, which showed their defensive strength. Heading into this game, the Jets will hope to continue that type of performance against the Broncos and record more points with Justin Fields at quarterback.

Fields recorded nearly 300 yards last game and 2 passing touchdowns, while his favorite target, Garrett Wilson, led the team in receiving yards. Breece Hall also ran for over 100 yards in his first full game since Braelon Allen’s injury. With all of the talent on the roster, the team will hope to put everything together for a win.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants

Fresh off their first loss of the season, the Eagles will be heading to the Meadowlands to take on Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants. In his second career game, Dart managed to record over 200 yards and two passing touchdowns, though also recorded three turnovers. While the Giants have the opportunity to upset the defending Super Bowl champions, limiting turnovers is crucial.

Dart found his throwing partner in the absence of Malik Nabers, as tight end Theo Johnson recorded two receiving touchdowns for the game. The Giants lost both of their previous two matchups against the Eagles in the 2024 season and are now looking to win their first matchup against them this season. With the help of the home crowd, the team will look to shine under the bright lights of primetime football.

For the Jets, fans will have to get up bright and early, as the game starts at 9:30 a.m. With the hopeful improvement of the defense and continued success of Fields, the team will look to take down the Broncos in London. The Giants have a tough opponent in the Eagles and will test Jaxson Dart, who will try to defeat the reigning champs.
