Both sharing an interest to bring better healthcare to New Jersey, Hackensack Meridian Health and One Medical have recently decided to collaborate to deliver a new primary care option to New Jersey residents.
Roughly 25% of adults and 50% of people under the age of 30 do not have a primary care doctor. The desired result of their collaboration is to bring more primary care providers to the Garden State, as well as helping to ensure that residents and employers have smooth, coordinated care through One Medical’s care model and Hackensack Meridian Health’s wide network of providers, hospitals and facilities.
We are deeply committed to expanding access to high-quality care and connecting patients with the specialty services they need and this exciting partnership with One Medical will help us advance our goals,” said Robert C. Garrett, FACHE, CEO of Hackensack Meridian Health. “This innovative approach to health care continues our journey to create the health system for the future.”
Once One Medical launches in New Jersey, members will have the ability to book appointments for in-person care in more than 20 major U.S. regions. One of the most important principles that One Medical was built upon is being able to provide patients with the most efficient and satisfying care possible.
“In collaborating with the exceptional Hackensack Meridian Health team, we are thrilled to be able to offer residents in New Jersey an outstanding patient care experience and seamless coordinated care across primary and specialty care settings,” said Trent Green, chief executive officer at One Medical. “Together, we are committed to enhancing access to care and improving the health and wellbeing of New Jerseyans.”
Members will also be able to get on-demand virtual offerings at no additional cost. Consumer memberships cost $199 per year, though One Medical works with employers who may cover the fees as part of a workforce benefit. Amazon Prime members can purchase a membership for just $9 per month as a perk.
Hackensack Meridian Health and One Medical plan to open several new locations over the next couple years. While no location has been yet, the first office is set to be open towards late 2024.
