The event is presented through a collaboration between Hackensack Riverkeeper and Veolia Water.

The event is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m., starting with a NJ Fish & Wildlife Youth Fishing Challenge. Entry for the fishing derby is free and prizes for the event will be given out at 1 p.m.

At 9 a.m., the competitive spirit continues, as a 5K and 10K paddle race ensues with medals on the line. The medals will be handed out to winners based on men’s and women’s classes, as well as singles and tandems. There will also be town and recreational races taking place at 11 a.m. for a more easygoing competition.

Later on in the day, at 1:30 p.m., there will be an open paddle session on the reservoir, where guests can bring their own kayak/canoe or rent one at the event. The session allows guests an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful sights that the Oradell Reservoir has to offer during a relaxing session.
