The Meadowlands and Rutherford Chambers are being sponsored by Vinnie’s Mootz and the Dan Meredith Agency to host Mootz night.
Let’s talk about the mootz.
Mootz Night will be held at Vinnie’s Mootz, where Vinnie Morelli will teach you how to make fresh mozzarella cheese – a Jersey staple!
“Mootz Night is such a fun event to enjoy with family and friends together for a great cause,” says Dan Meredith, Allstate agency owner and member of the Relay for Life leadership.
What is the cause, you may ask?
The Relay for Life is an organization that strives to help communities in the pursuit against cancer by raising funds and spreading awareness on both national and local levels with support from the American Cancer Society. As for the Meadowlands region, our local relay is the Relay for Life of Clifton and Rutherford.
“Cancer survivors, cancer caregivers, friends and family of cancer patients and members of the Clifton and Rutherford communities, come together each year to create and hold a main event called The Relay for Life,” shares Dan.
Leading up to the main event, are smaller events like Mootz Night that help to raise the bar for the funds.
Fundraising money is used in a variety of ways from a national scale to a local scale. This includes but is not limited to cancer research, rides for patients, family members and caregivers to and from cancer treatments, free accommodations at the Hope Lodge when they need to travel and stay overnight for said treatments, access to counseling, wigs and more!
It’s a win-win.
Not only do you have the chance to make your own authentic mozzarella cheese from scratch and learn about the Italian history connected to your experience in making mootz, but you also get to contribute to an amazing cause, where your money helps in the fight against cancer.
The monetary goal for raised funds during Mootz Night lies at a minimum of $1,200-$1,500.

The event will take place on April 6th at 7 P.M. at Vinnie’s Mootz, which is located at 356 Valley Brook Avenue in Lyndhurst, New Jersey.
You will need to reserve you spot, as space is limited. The price lies at $50 per person and this includes everything you need to make mootz, as well as you can BYOB wine.
All the proceeds will benefit the Relay for Life of Clifton and Rutherford.
