Liberty Science Center Promises Aviation Weekend filled with Flying and Fun

Suit up and prepare for takeoff, as Liberty Science Center prepares for Aviation Weekend, slated for May 4 and 5, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

In celebration of May as New Jersey General Aviation Appreciation Month, LSC will be hosting exhibitors from Lincoln Park Aviation, the Mid-Atlantic Pilot Association, Nauticos, the Air Force, and the Space Force. Kickoff will be at 10:30 a.m. on May 4th, featuring special guest speaker United States Space Force chief master John Bentivegna.

Lincoln Park Aviation

Lincoln Park Aviation is a prominent aviation company, currently based in its namesake Lincoln Park, NJ. Founded by Frank Galella in 1989, LPA brings multiple decades of sales, maintenance, and aircraft management experience to the table, and manufactures premium aircraft through their partnership with Textron Aviation.

A particularly innovative plane produced out of this partnership will be displayed during Aviation Weekend: the Pipistrel Velis Electro, the world’s first FAA-certified all-electric airplane.

Mid-Atlantic Pilot Association

Since 1957, the Mid-Atlantic Pilot Association has been committed to promoting air safety, aviation education, and flying camaraderie. The non-profit organization has recently entered into a close working partnership with the Aviation Hall of Fame in Teterboro, NJ, with whom they have launched the first-ever FAA-Approved Flight Simulation, the Gleim Virtual Cockpit BATD.

Nauticos

Since its founding in 1986, the Nauticos Corporation has provided ocean technology services to government, science, and industry. Having participated in both the discovery of the I-52, a WW2 Japanese submarine, and the DAKAR, an Israeli submarine lost in 1968, the Corporation is currently working towards discovering the final resting place of pilot Amelia Earhart, in the South Pacific.
