The Meadowlands Chamber (MC) hosted its 2019 Annual Leadership Awards Breakfast today April 11 with Mark Sparta, president of Hackensack University Medical Center, as the keynote speaker. The event honored six Meadowlands business leaders for their commitment and dedication to our business community.
Every year the MC recognizes individuals who have been especially active and integral in advancing the Chamber’s mission of stimulating economic development and improving the greater community. The award is named after the late Arline Simpson Seidman, a former chairwoman of the Chamber whose leadership spanned a 25 year period. Below are this year’s recipients of the 2019 Arline Simpson Leadership Award:

The awards were presented to the recipients by Mark Sparta, president of Hackensack University Medical Center; Elisse Glennon, vice president & chief administrative officer of NJ Sharing Network; Jim Kirkos, president & chief executive office of Meadowlands Chamber; Judith Ross, vice president of Meadowlands Chamber.

As the President and Chief Hospital Executive at the 781 bed Hackensack University Medical Center, Mark Sparta oversees a budget of $1.8 billion and operating margin of $170+ million. The President and Chief Hospital Executive’s role at HMH’s academic flagship hospital, provides him with the opportunity to execute his network of Population Health responsibilities at a large scale and then roll-out successes across the network. While focusing on value-based payer partnerships and alternative care delivery strategies, Mark leverages his clinical and operational backgrounds to achieve sustainable results.
