On Wednesday, Aug. 27 and Thursday, Aug. 28, System of a Down will be coming to MetLife Stadium to perform two shows. The renowned rock band has established themselves as one of the most iconic groups of the genre, defining a decade of music. From winning a Grammy to selling over 40 million records, the group has solidified its legendary status.
System of a Down will be joined by Korn, an equally iconic band. They have also accumulated Grammy wins and have headlined many festivals over the years. The collaboration between the two groups signifies a juggernaut of the industry making its way to the Meadowlands.
The two widely popular bands are set to attract a large audience to MetLife Stadium, which seats tens of thousands of fans. As a result of this, traffic is expected to run in the area at the time of the concerts. The concert is set to begin at 5:30 p.m., with gates opening at 4:30 p.m. and parking lots opening at 12:30 p.m.
NJ Transit will be offering its usual rail service from Secaucus Junction to Meadowlands Station, which runs from 3:28 p.m. until 8:45 p.m. Once the concert ends, it will continue to run, departing no earlier than 1 a.m.
Redd’s Bar and Restaurant in Carlstadt, New Jersey will also be offering shuttle service, as it is conveniently located just a few minutes away from the venue. The shuttle runs every 5-10 minutes throughout the duration of the event.
Next week’s show is one of many taking place this summer in the Meadowlands, displaying the wide range of the venue. In just the past few weeks, MetLife Stadium has hosted My Chemical Romance, the Jonas Brothers, Chris Brown and can now add System of a Down and Korn to that list. The impressive lineup marks a summer of musical events in the region.
