Mountain Creek Raises $18K For First Responders

First responders got a big bang on July 4 totaling $18,500, courtesy of the annual Vernon Community Fireworks event held at Mountain Creek in New Jersey.

Nestled along Kittatinny Mountain (Kittatinny means “Big Mountain” in Lenape) — a major ridge of the Appalachian Mountains — the event featured live music, giant lawn games, bounce houses, a petting zoo, a Biergarten, food, and more.

With panoramic views of the tri-state area, the Mountain Creek event culminated with a big fireworks show and raised money for local fire departments and first responders in Highland Lakes, Vernon, Pochuck Valley and McAfee. External vendor fees went to Vernon Emergency Medical Services.

Guests also got to test their need for speed on the Alpine Mountain Coaster, which is similar to ziplining, except participants are seated, with full control over how fast they want to go.
