Navy-Notre Dame Football Matchup Comes to MetLife Stadium Next Month

As MetLife Stadium prepares to host the NY Giants this week for their first game of the 2024-25 NFL season, there are also multiple college football games coming up in the near future. The first matchup will take place on Sept. 14 as Morehouse College and Howard University face off in the HBCU NY Classic. The other matchup features one of the most historic rivalries in college football history, between Notre Dame and Navy.

The two schools played annually from 1927 to 2019, with COVID ending the streak, but not before it was able to earn the title for the longest uninterrupted intersectional rivalry in college football. While Notre Dame holds a significant lead in the all-time numbers over Navy, the historic nature of the game doesn’t stop it from being competitive.

The rivalry has visited many major stadiums over the past few years, including M&T Bank Stadium in 2022 and Aviva Stadium in Ireland in 2023. With MetLife Stadium offering a significantly higher capacity than the other two stadiums, it can be predicted that this matchup will see its largest attendance yet.

The game is set to take place on Oct. 26 at 12 p.m., with gates opening at 10 a.m. and parking lots opening at 7 a.m. To purchase tickets for the event, visit ticketmaster.com.
