Last week, the New York Giants made waves throughout the football community through the signing of John Harbaugh as the team’s next head coach. Harbaugh spent a day at the Giants’ facility as the team aggressively pushed to sign him as the new head coach and ended the day with a dinner at Elia Mediterranean Restaurant in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Harbaugh previously coached the Baltimore Ravens for 18 seasons, where he has recorded the 14th-most wins in NFL history and led the Ravens to a Super Bowl title in the 2012-13 season. After being fired earlier this month, Harbaugh quickly became one of the most highly-touted coaches on the market with his extensive and impressive resume.
“We are proud to name John Harbaugh as the next head coach of the New York Giants,” said team president John Mara. “Joe Schoen presented us an outstanding group of candidates, which allowed us to be deliberate and confident in this decision. Through numerous conversations, John consistently stood out for his conviction and vision for leading a winning organization, and we welcome him and his family to the Giants.”
Before sealing the deal, Giants General Manager Joe Schoen and the Giants took Harbaugh out to dinner at Elia Mediterranean Restaurant in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Located less than 3 miles from MetLife Stadium, the restaurant provides a unique experience, bringing the flavors of the Mediterranean to the Meadowlands.
“Congratulations to John Harbaugh on becoming the new Head Coach of the New York Giants. Wishing you nothing but success in this next chapter. Thank you to the entire New York Giants organization for always including us as part of the process – it truly means a lot,” Elia Mediterranean Restaurant captioned on an Instagram post.
The Giants will enter the 2026-27 season with a talented roster of young stars, including Cam Skattebo and Malik Nabers returning from injuries, along with new talent from the draft. Pairing the talent on the roster with a coach with a track record as consistent as Harbaugh’s, the Giants are positioning themselves to be a threat next season. If Harbaugh is able to bring his winning ways to the Meadowlands, Elia cemented itself as one of the key pieces in his journey here.
