With the nation’s 250th anniversary approaching NJ Transit’s Jersey Journeys program is allowing residents the opportunity to explore some of New Jersey’s most historic sites. The interactive map showcases more than 150 historic sites across the Garden State, which are all easily accessible by NJ Transit rail, bus or light rail. From Revolutionary War Battlefields to cultural museums, the map displays New Jersey’s contributions to the development of the nation.
“I’m honored to support the ‘Jersey Journeys: Every Stop Tells a Story’ initiative – an innovative way for New Jerseyans and visitors alike to explore our rich heritage and better understand the role this state has played in shaping the nation,” said New Jersey Senator Joseph Cryan (LD-20). “By raising awareness that historic sites are accessible via public transit, NJ TRANSIT is opening doors to discovery, strengthening civic pride and advancing education right in our own backyard.”
The interactive map allows users to easily find some of the most historically significant monuments and landmarks throughout the state. It also tells users the easiest method of transportation to access these sites.

The interactive map is part of New Jersey’s greater effort to honor the nation’s 250th anniversary. The program allows citizens to increase their knowledge on the history of the state and the buildings that encompass the area. To access the interactive map, visit njtransit.com/journeys.
