Oct. 6 marks the 11th Annual National MFG Day and NJMEP will be hosting an event to bring those involved in MFG, STEM, Consulting and Government & Academics together to connect with one another and talk about the industry. Since its creation, National Manufacturing Day has been a way for NJMEP to educate the masses on why manufacturing is important and how it benefits New Jersey.
NJMEP’s Manufacturing Day event will be held at The Event Center @ IPA in Freehold, NJ. From 7:45am to 8:30am, those in attendance will register and have the opportunity to network with other guests in attendance. From 8:30 to 9, Peter Connolly, the CEO of NJMEP, will welcome all guests to the event, helping prepare them for the schedule ahead.
From 9 to 9:30, there will be opening remarks, in addition to the NJMEP Honor Roll being announced. Afterwards, from 9:30 to 10:30, the winners of part 1 of the ‘Made in NJ’ MFG Awards will be announced. The categories for part 1 include Rising Stars, Leader in Life Sciences and Innovator of the Year. Following the awards, there will be a brief 15 minute break for guests to continue networking and relax before moving on to part 1 of the break-out sessions.
The first part of the break-out sessions will go on from 10:45 to 11:45 and will feature discussions that go over the following topics:
- Industry 4.0 Technologies and Why Cybersecurity Matters
- Improving Supply Chain Resiliency and Transparency
- Cost Savings and Financing Strategies for NJ Manufacturers
- Women in Manufacturing and Women in Defense
From 11:45 to 12:15, finger foods and the MFG Day signature cocktail will be served and immediately following it will be a robotic showcase, which will last from 12:15 to 12:45.
The second part of the break-out sessions will take place from 12:45 to 1:45 and will discuss the following topics:
- Production Best Practices
- Marketing Strategies Specifically for the Modern Manufacturer
- Workforce Solutions – What Are They, Where Are They & How to Implement
- New Jersey Industry and Government Collaboration – Progress and Follow Up
Lunch will be served directly after for an hour, from 1:45 to 2:45. From 2:45 to 3:15, part 2 of the ‘Made in NJ’ MFG Awards will commence, where the Manufacturer of the Year will be announced. The award is split into three different categories; one for large businesses, one for medium-sized businesses and one for small businesses.
At 3:15, the closing ceremony will begin, marking the conclusion of the event. Final comments will be given and the event will officially come to a close.
