The Golden Girls are back (not literally) but the characters and vibe of Rose, Dorothy, Blanche and Sophia are coming to the Meadowlands in New Jersey to throw a party at Marcus Live Bar and Grille at American Dream, 1 American Dream Way, East Rutherford.
You’re invited to take part in the merrymaking, and purchase food and drinks at Marcus Live Bar and Grille while mingling and laughing with the Golden Girls and other guests. The shebang soon turns deadly, however, as shots ring out and someone is murdered. Now you and everyone else is a suspect and must play detective to find the killer.
Hosted by Without A Cue Productions, the 90-minute immersive performance turns the spotlight on the audience as clues are discovered and the mystery unfolds.
If you figure out whodunnit, you win a prize from the theater company. Is it one of the Golden Girls? A guest? Someone on staff at Marcus Live or American Dream?
The immersive experience takes place on Sunday, Nov. 10 with three showtimes: 12 p.m., 3 p.m., and 6 p.m. Tickets are $35+ tax and fees. Seats will be assigned upon purchasing your ticket.
This is not a dinner event, but light bites and cocktails will be available for purchase. The show is recommended for ages 13 and older.
Without A Cue Productions
The show was written by Traci Connaughton, who launched Without A Cue Productions almost 25 years ago in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, just outside of Philadelphia. A resident of Morgantown, Pennsylvania, the former dinner theater actor has over 50 part time or contracted performers on her payroll.
A for-profit business rather than following the more typical arts and theater trajectory of nonprofits, she told Billy Penn WHYY that if she’s not selling out the room, she’s not making a living. From the start, she said she always operated Without A Cue Productions like a business.
A Golden Girls Murder Mystery is not authorized, sanctioned, licensed or endorsed by Disney, Buena Vista International Television, or any person or company associated with The Golden Girls television show or merchandise.
