Fluminense FC will be coming to the Meadowlands in just a few months for the team’s two 2025 FIFA Club World Cup group stage matches. On Jun. 17, they will take on Borussia Dortmund and on Jun. 21, they will face Ulsan HD. One of the team’s key pieces as they search for victory in these matches is midfielder Jhon Arias.
Arias inked a four-year deal with Fluminense FC on Aug. 18, 2021. In his time since joining the team, he has been an integral part of the team, helping them secure their first Copa Libertadores title.
In his most recent season with the squad, Arias led the team in goals scored in the Brazilian Serie A, with 7. On top of that, Arias also racked up 3 assists, further displaying his impact on the team.
Arias, who was born in Colombia, has also begun to establish himself as one of the premier talents for his national soccer team, scoring 3 goals in 16 appearances in 2024. In his two prior seasons with his nation’s team, he had scored no goals, though now his trajectory is upwards.
As Fluminense FC searches for victory in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, their journey is reliant upon success in the Meadowlands. If Arias can continue to provide the support that he has for the team in the past, they could finally see themselves winning the tournament.
