Put your homestyle chili and salsa to the test on Saturday, Feb. 17 from 5-9 p.m. at the Meadowlands Racetrack’s annual Winter Chili Cook-Off.
One contestant will take home the $1000 grand prize for best chili and another will win $500 for the top salsa. Those interested in participating can register here.
Racetrack guests are invited to sample the chili and vote for their favorite to be crowned People’s Choice. The winner in this category will walk away with the $250 prize. Fan voting begins at 7 p.m., with voting tickets available in the Chili Cook-Off area.
Cash prizes are also on offer for the runners-up in each category:
Chili: $1000 Grand Prize; $500 – 2nd; $250 – 3rd. Salsa: $500 Grand Prize; $250 – 2nd; $100 – 3rd. People’s Choice: $250. Best Booth: $250.
Live harness racing is also taking place the same night, with first race post time at 6:20 p.m.
