After 8 long months, the NFL season is officially underway with the Kansas City Chiefs defeating the Baltimore Ravens last night in the first game of the 2024-25 season. The NFL season will be making its return to East Rutherford this Sunday, when the New York Giants take on the Minnesota Vikings at 1 p.m.
The Giants enter the game on Sunday with some significant changes from the previous season, notably the losses of Saquon Barkley and Darren Waller and the addition of star players such as Brian Burns and Malik Nabers. The game will also see QB Daniel Jones make his first start for the team since his season-ending injury last November.
With their starting QB out for the season, the Minnesota Vikings enter the game in a tough position, giving the Giants an opportunity to capitalize in their first game of the season. The odds remain almost even, with no one team being clearly favored, but the energetic and lively crowd at MetLife may be able to boost the Giants’ success.
The following day, Meadowlands’ other team, the New York Jets, will be opening up their season on Monday Night Football, however, the game will be taking place in California against the San Francisco 49ers. The game will mark Aaron Rodgers’ first game back since his unfortunate injury in the season opener last year. The primetime game will kick off what seems to be one of the most promising seasons of the franchise’s history in recent memory.
