From Friday, April 10, to Sunday, April 12, the second annual Rock Paper Scissors Throwdown will be returning to American Dream in East Rutherford, New Jersey. 384 competitors will be coming to the mall, with only one lucky winner taking home the $10,000 grand prize.
The event will be taking place at The Dream Stage, Court A on Level 1. On April 10, the event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with it lasting from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. A total of 12,000 in prize money will be divided amongst the top 12 finishers in the competition.
The three-day event pits hundreds of participants, with only one person able to emerge as the sole winner. A selection of luck and strategy can be utilized by competitors to help give them an edge in the second rendition of the tournament.
At last year’s competition, Kevin Wang won the $10,000 prize, outlasting 383 fellow competitors at American Dream. This year, the competition will be returning to the Meadowlands, looking to crown a new champion.
The games will consist of “best three out of five”, with the first person to win three games in a five game span advancing to the next round. For the finals, it will switch to a “best four out of seven”, with the lucky winner earning the $10,000 grand prize.
