TD Bank Group has named Jacqueline (Jackie) Sanjuas as its new Global Head of Financial Crime Risk Management. Alongside her new role, Sanjuas will continue serving as the U.S. Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer, reporting jointly to TD’s Group Head and Chief Risk Officer and the U.S. Chief Risk Officer.
Sanjuas takes over from Herb Mazariegos, Senior Vice President of Financial Crime Risk Management, who is departing from TD Bank. Mazariegos will work with the team to ensure a seamless transition.
Since joining TD in January 2024, Sanjuas has been instrumental in driving significant improvements to the Bank’s U.S. anti-money laundering (AML) program. With over 20 years of experience in compliance and risk management, she previously held leadership roles at a major U.S. bank, including Head of U.S. Financial Crimes and Chief Compliance Officer.
In conjunction with Sanjuas’ appointment, Stephen Joyce, Vice President of Financial Crime Risk Management, Transformation Delivery and Enablement, will step in as Interim Head of Financial Crime Risk Management for TD’s Canadian and International operations outside the U.S. Joyce will report to Sanjuas, with the changes taking effect immediately.
