The 2025 NFL Draft is less than a week away, beginning on April 24 and both the Giants and Jets hold top picks in the draft. The Giants hold the third pick in the draft, while the Jets have the seventh. Both teams will have a great deal of talented players to choose from with these picks. Read below to find out who some of the players are that the teams are looking to draft.
Colorado Stars Top Giants’ Wishlist
The New York Giants have seen many players predicted to fall to them in mock drafts, though the most common is Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders. With both Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston on the roster, these predictions have been dialed back, though Sanders could take an apprentice role behind them.
The two non-QBs that have been predicted to join the Giants are Heisman winner Travis Hunter, a teammate of Sanders at Colorado and Abdul Carter, a linebacker at Penn State. Both of these players are highly-touted prospects and one will surely be drafted within the top two picks. The remaining player is likely the one that the Giants will go after.
Jets Take on Wild Card Role with O-Line and D-Line as Priority
The Jets’ needs for the NFL Draft are not as clear as the Giants’. One common theme among the team has been their struggles at the offensive line, which has been a common talking point in the draft for them. Missouri OT Armand Membou has been frequently linked to the team in mock drafts.
The Jets have also been linked to Michigan DT Mason Graham to solidify their defense. The team could pull off a surprise pick by drafting Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart, who some have speculated may be drafted by them. The Jets’ various needs in the draft makes it uncertain what player they will select, but as the draft comes closer, it may become more obvious and clear who will be the latest New York Jet.
Regardless of who the Giants and Jets select in the draft, they will walk away with some of the most talented players in the pool. Their newest additions will look to help the team improve as they head into the next season.
