The Delta Dental of New Jersey Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Delta Dental of New Jersey (DDNJ), has announced a $10,000 grant to Bergen Community College Foundation to support dental hygienist scholarships for 10 students. This program seeks to increase the dental hygiene workforce to provide vital dental services to our communities. With many dental hygienists retiring or leaving the profession, there is a critical need for this next generation of dental hygienists.
Bergen Community College is among dozens in New Jersey who have been announced as the recipients of more than $761,000 granted in 2022.
These grants provide positive support for more than 14,000 residents in the state. That includes helping provide dental care and dental education to thousands of uninsured and underinsured seniors, developmentally disabled adults and children, disadvantaged children, and veterans. The donations also will help fund scholarships for dental hygienists at a variety of county colleges around the state as well as help support dental assisting programs for students in high school.
