With the 4th of July just around the corner, the Meadowlands is filled with plenty of fun and entertaining ways for you to spend your Independence Day weekend. With fireworks, food and all types of entertainment, it is sure to guarantee a fun time for everyone.
Below, you can find just some of the many events that will be taking place in the region over the coming days in celebration of the 4th of July.
Meadowlands State Fair, July 3 & 4:
State Fair Meadowlands will be celebrating the 4th of July with fireworks from Garden State Fireworks, who have provided pyrotechnics for Presidential Inaugurations and Super Bowls. The show will begin at 11 p.m. on both nights, but there will be food and rides for guests to enjoy before that takes place.
Bergen County’s Star-Spangled Spectacular, July 4:
The County of Bergen is looking to start its new 4th of July tradition, as Overpeck County Park hosts Bergen County’s Star-Spangled Spectacular featuring the New Jersey Wind Symphony. Following the success of the New Jersey Wind Symphony’s “Pop Goes the 4th”, Bergen County has decided to elevate the event, offering guests an afternoon of entertainment, activities, food trucks, a beer and wine garden and much more.
The festivities are set to begin at 3 p.m. in the Ridgefield Park section of Overpeck County Park where local acts will be kicking things off at the Amphitheater. The New Jersey Wind Symphony will come out at 7:20 p.m. and 2 hours later, at 9:20 p.m., the fireworks will begin.
“The County is thrilled to announce our partnership with the New Jersey Wind Symphony for this spectacular new event at Overpeck County Park,” said County Executive Jim Tedesco. “Not only are we welcoming the return of fireworks to Overpeck County Park, but we are also setting the stage as we build towards the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 2026. Grab your blankets and lawn chairs and bring the whole family to witness Bergen County’s Star-Spangled Spectacular featuring the New Jersey Wind Symphony this 4th of July as we celebrate our nation’s history together.”
Paramus 4th of July Fireworks Show & More Festivities, July 4 & 7:
At 9 a.m., the Independence Day festivities will kick off in Paramus, as its parade is set to begin at that time. The parade will begin at the intersection of Farview Avenue and E. Century Road, moving north on Farview Avenue.
The festivities will resume on Sunday, July 7 at 3 p.m. with a food truck festival hosted by the Paramus Volunteer Fire Department. The festival will be located in the west lot of Garden State Plaza. Admission to the festival will be $5 per person or $10 for a two-person family or more. Some of the vendors scheduled to be in attendance for the festival include Clyde’s Homemade Italian Ice, Kimchi Smoke and Batter Me Up.
Shortly after, at 6 p.m., the gates will open for the fireworks show at the Cliff Gennarelli Sports Complex. At the event, there will be live music and hosts, DJ Valentino and iHeartRadio. The fireworks are set to go off at dusk to provide viewers with the ultimate watching experience.
While there are plenty of activities taking place in the Meadowlands this Independence Day Weekend, these are just some of the biggest and most entertaining ones in the region. All of these events help to serve as a reminder that the Meadowlands goes above and beyond for the holidays to provide entertainment to all citizens.
